A new look at fast cruising, the 550 brings together an incredible combination of high performance, high specification and radical new design.  The 550 is a new generation of innovation, beautiful, high performance catamarans with a true racing heritage, giving class-leading performance.  Intelligent electronics, navigation and radically simple innovation sail handling will be standard, as will the creative contemporary, luxury interiors.
The photos are of the prototype Rapier 550 which is available for viewing and sail trials based on the South Coast UK. The shipyard is also developing a 65, 85 and 100 foot versions and initial drawings are available.
What makes the rapier catamaran so different?
Essentially the two main unique features allow one person to sail and manage all deck controls from the interior helm position. Whether the yacht is being used in inclement waters to enjoy early or late season yachting or simply to keep out of the sun, the unique design offers unparalleled access to sail the yacht form the helm position. The main saloon is designed to provide either a totally enclosed space or, with the provision of very large opening aft doors, side windows and roof hatches, the option of interior living, outside.
The Rapier 550 can be sailed form a steering position in the comfort of a bespoke leather chair or vie port and starboard carbon tillers if you prefer to sail with the wind in your hair.
There is also an option of a flybridge arrangement on the larger versions if desired but we believe this may not be required when you experience the ability for this yacht to transform form a safe, totally enclosed space to an alfresco area to enjoy the elements as you desire.
